Beauty of Varkala!

Hello guys!
It’s good to see you all again. First I should thank you guys for the love and support you gave me on my first blog. Im glad that some of you came up with your opinions and suggestions which I will probably fulfill in this blog.

I know lockdown is driving us crazy that we are forced to stay in the same place which is for good reason. There are so many good things happening in this lockdown, the main thing is that we are spending time with our family. Still What’s missing in this lockdown?  One thing that we miss terribly is travel. Like you all I also miss travelling.

When I randomly scrolled the gallery I found some pictures of a place and I thought of sharing my experience on that place to you. It was the picture taken in “Varkala”. So you may ask why ‘Varkala’? When you get to know this place you will eventually fall in love this place. Now get-away with me to Varkala…
Varkala is a small Town with limited population. I would refer this place as mini Goa. You can see many foreigners there than in Goa. Because of the less population people prefer Varkala more than Goa. You can see the beach from the cliff. Small town, wonderful spots, Cliffs, beaches, easy access to the drugs, share autos, more nature less people, beautiful language. What more you want for a small vacation?

It was on May 3rd 2018 we started our journey. With full of energy, dance, songs, ours trip was so much fun. Traveling for more than 7 hours covering almost 350 kms made us all so tired. The next day morning by 6.30 we took a walk to the beach. We stayed in a north cliff and our resort was near to the beach and it took five mins to reach the beach. As I was walking towards the beach I saw some foreigners with the cigarette in their hands. To feel the rusticity of Varkala you have to walk through the shops of Varkala North Cliff. There will be many shops like accessories, cafe, restaurant and so many shops with cheap price. When the time was nearing 6.30 only some coffee shops and restaurants were opened. We have to walk down the stairs to reach the beach, while walking down I saw trees on the either side of the steps and in some place I got the view of the beach from the top but it was so much fun because there were more than 100 stairs, which gave me different views of the beach. We reached the beach it was very pleasant, serene, calm and beautiful. I detached myself from the family and I sat alone and only few people were on the beach. I could sense the humidity of that place and heard the sound of the waves and chirping of birds. I was so happy then. I saw the beach which is in my front and I when I turn back I saw only tress no humans. I felt completely relaxed , at that time forgot Everything and Everyone, I just enjoyed the moment just with myself.

Sunset are the best spot in Varkala I agree but my favourite is sunrise, I made a point that for the next two days I should not miss that spot.

We stayed in Varkala for three days we explored many places. “Kapil beach” its a beach which is 8 kms away from the main Varkala beach. Helipad spot, where you can have paragliding. But unfortunately it was closed, when we there, it’ll be available on the months of December to April. Odayam beach sunset. One of the best sunset spots in India I would say.

It was the last day of our stay in Varkala as I mentioned I didn’t Miss that sunrise . I reached there sat on the shore observed the beach. I realised something , people with beautiful heart allows limited people in their life, but they will create a nice impact on the others life, like Varkala. If you allow more people in your life eventually you will end up in polluting yourself. The less you have the more beauty you can posses. Varkala is one such place when you visit you will fall in love with that place. And the impact that it created will remain in your heart forever.

And for the first time in that place I let myself to play with the beach. If you are a traveller or a nature lover don’t miss this is amazing place in Kerala. Hope you enjoyed this blog please drop your comments and let me know your favourite place.

Until then,

Sahana

  1. Beautiful all throught.. language continuity works well. Had a mini mind-visit to the place while reading and that acheives your blog’s purpose.

Refined language & less grammatical errors..keep it up Sana!.🤗
